Tobias grimaced. "You do have a point, but most of these have been so banged up over the years that it's not even worth trying to fix. I honestly need new equipment, but I wasn't intending on Aragohm making the purchases himself. I know what I want and need, but he's paying..."

Legault made it a fair way towards the center of the crowd before he saw her. She was staring longingly at one of the performers. Legault held back and watched her for a minute before turning around. He started to head out when she turned and noticed him. She ran forward, grabbed his hand cheerfully, and asked him how long he was in Yaglon for. "I stopped in to see you, but I didn't want to interrupt you and the performers." She kissed him and told him that he wasn't interrupting, she was just enjoying the performance. She then held his hand and led him back to the center of the crowd, where she began to dance for him.

Xanatos carefully scanned the crowd as he weaved his way through the mass of people. A few times he paused as he saw likely candidates, but each time passed by. They were looking for a cloaked individual as for some reason the demon had not yet learned, or had not realized that he could change into a human, making his job semi-easier. However in this crowd during one of the largest fairs in Aragohm, there was a large variety of people, and more than one that was fully cloaked, which was probably why the demon even decided to come here in the first place. Xanatos was just watching a young woman who had began to dance for someone when he heard a sharp whistle. In this crowd, not unusual, but it was a very definitive whistle that all the slayers knew. The demon had been found...

Legault watched as her long green hair moved through the wind. He had always tried to get her to notice him, and now it seemed his actions and hard work had paid off. As she danced about, Legault noticed a whistling noise, one he'd quickly recognized from a previously completed mission. There were dragon slayers in the town, and the only purpose he could surmise was that a dragon or something of the like was present as well. The woman noticed his attention slipping and change in his demeanor, so she asked him what was the matter. Legault told her that there could be a battle between dragon and slayer sometime during the fair. He then noticed her expression change as she grabbed his hand and headed back towards her home.

Makaidos froze in the middle of what he was doing. Thinking hard he fought to figure out what had set him off. He mentally ran through a checklist of possible causes. Did his sense of danger change for the worse? No, it was unchanged. No sudden spikes to alert him of danger. Was there something he saw that alerted him? Quickly glancing around at the bright colors of the fair he couldn't see any obvious thing that could have alerted him. Was it something he'd heard? Thinking quickly he reviewed noises in the past few seconds. The normal random conversations of the crowd, the shatter of glass as someone accidentally dropped their beverage, the thump and jostle of the many people in close proximity...and a sharp whistle... The whistle he'd heard before: the night his father died, several times ambushed by warriors brandishing blades of death, and when he fought one who hunted him obsessively...Dragon slayers were here, and his danger sense was blind to them! Makaidos looked around quickly, worriedly. The whistle meant that they'd found their prey and were closing in which meant that he had mere moments to escape the net that they'd obviously surrounded him with. This peaceful fair had turned into a nightmare in moments, the slayers had found him and found a way to hide themselves from him. There was nothing for it now. They knew where he was, and were able to hide themselves completely from him, so any direction that he ran could be instant death. But staying here meant only certain death. He wouldn't risk innocent bystanders getting harmed in this fight so he would have to escape to a secluded place. Without another moment's thought, Makaidos ran blindly through the crowd.

Draykos stood up grinning. "Well come on then. The sooner we get going, the sooner we get going, the sooner you all can enjoy the fair and get your new equipment and whatever else you want. But duty first. We have to see if we can find the king's son first, so let's get started." Draykos turned and began walking toward the city gates.

Craze emerged from the safe house, as his thugs ran into the city in their guard disguises and assortments of other crazy rags and clothes. They would blend in perfectly. He started walking into town, and pulled the hood of his purple cape his lietunant had been holding for him. Most people knew who he was, so might be good to avoide attention... For a few more minutes. He made sure he had his jagged knife. He would draw the first blood. He smiled under his mask. The excitment of the incoming blood shed was almost to much.

Xanatos quickly looked around attempting to find his quarry, and barely got a glimpse of a cloaked figure darting through the crowd, pursued by one of his men. Clenching his fist, he gave a series of short whistles and pointed in Makaidos' direction. Instantly his men began chasing after Makaidos, pushing their way through the crowd. This would be difficult, and they would have to avoid injuring the townsfolk while they dispatched the demon, but it was possible, and had greater chances than attempts prior to this. Xanatos followed his men and raced through the maze like crowd of people, keeping track of the demon's cloaked form through small breaks in the crowd. He would not escape this time...

Makaidos glanced behind him when he heard sharp whistles and saw several slayers give chase. His step faltered for a second when he recognized one form, disguised as he was. It was Xanatos...the slayer had found him again... Makaidos toppled over several stands and smaller stalls in the pathway, attempting to slow down his pursuers amidst flying chickens, random foodstuffs, and miscellaneous other large objects that had fallen over the pathway. Most people at this point didn't realize what he was, they probably thought he was an unfortunate thief, caught in the act. The longer he could go without revealing what he actually was, the better. They would panic, and act in unpredictable ways, and he didn't need civilians getting injured in what wasn't their fight. Glancing behind him again to check the slayer's location, he ducked down a slightly less crowded alley. He needed to get to higher ground fast. That would keep civilians out of a potential fight, and if he could make his way to the city walls, provide an escape.

As Legault followed the lady through the crowd, he began thinking of a way to help get the coming conflict out of Yaglon. A plan entered his mind, and he asked for the lady's help. Legault told her his plan and she agreed to assist him. He climbed atop a nearby roof and pulled her up. He began rearranging crates around and cleared a space on the roof. He then moved towards the edge of the roof, inhaled as much as possible, then let out the loudest howl he could muster, overtaking all of the noise of the fair. When people began to look up towards him, he began to drum on the crates, and the lady began to dance. As he planned, groups of the crowd shifted their focuses from the suspected thief, whom was being chased, to him and the woman on the roof. Parts of the crowd even started moving towards the house, making more space for the thief to pass through. Legault felt a bit more relieved, for there would be less people caught in the battle. Whatever he could do to help Yaglon, his home, he would do without hesitation.

Xanatos cursed at his ill fortune. The people performing on the roof had the crowd of people slowly gravitating towards them, and they were right between himself and the demon. If the crowd were any denser it would bring him and his slayers to a virtual standstill and then Makaidos would get away...again. He would have sent a slayer up to break up the performance on the roof if time weren't of the essence. Looking around quickly, he looked for an alternate route. Since he was near one of the edges of the crowd, he had free movement behind him, but not in front. He'd have to backtrack, but if he could get onto the roofs, the close proximity of the buildings would make for an easy trek across the rooftops to nearly any place in the city. At least the civilians would be kept out of the fight if they continued to watch the performance and avoid accidental bloodshed. Xanatos quickly devised a route and vaulted up several boxes and stalls, grabbed an outstretched pole, and swung himself up onto an overhang, and from there swung up onto the roof. Here he had a decent view of the square. His slayers were valiantly attempting to make their way through the crowd, but several of them were at a standstill. Two others had the same idea as himself and had just made their way onto various other buildings. He caught a brief glimpse of Makaidos ducking down an alleyway. Xanatos sprinted across the rooftops, keeping Makaidos' relative position in sight and motioned towards the others on the roof which direction the demon had gone. The performance was a major inconvenience as it lowered his effective force to less than half it's initial force. As long as his men didn't confront Makaidos one on one, they could still take him.

Craze smiled. All of his men were in postion. He started nodding, giving his men signals. They all started pulling out their assorted weapons, clubs, swords, knive, and just about anything else imaginable. His men started moving in on guards, and getting them out of the way quickly and violently. The guards on the roof were the first to fall, literally. As they plummeted to the ground, the screams began. He looked towards the performers on the roof. He titled his head towards them, and three men began moving in on them, maybe they'd get lucky. Most of his people were... not bright. He pulled out his knife, and stabbed a nearby man, and they rest of the men began making a big circle around this huge cround in this part of the city. More of his thugs were spread out through the city, guarding all exits, no was going to get out. He had been working on this for years. He would not lose this.

Makaidos faltered for a second when he heard the howl and glanced up at the performers on the rooftop. Through their actions, they had helped him out if they realized it or not. The crowd was moving towards them, cutting off the pursuing slayers and creating openings in the crowd in front of him allowing him to move more quickly and put more distance between them and himself and attempt to escape them without a fight. At least things seemed to be going his way this time...minus the slayers attempting to kill him again. Makaidos quickly ascended a drainpipe to the roof of a low building. Now he had a better sense of what was going on around him. His danger sense was useless now, as it only warned of potential, or actual danger to himself but didn't get anymore specific than that, although it would spike in intensity the closer to physical harm he came. Around the square he could see the slayers mostly caught in the crowd, but there were a few stragglers who had the good sense to get out of that trap and climb up the buildings and move towards his general area. However, he also noticed several other figures not in slayer garb and one of them threw a guard off a building. Then the crowd panicked and he lost sight of the slayers still stuck in the crowd. Behind the performers, several other people were beginning to make their way towards them, clearly up to no good. Makaidos paused, all instincts screaming for him to escape and leave the civilians to whatever chaos was going on, but he couldn't. If the people were in danger because of himself, he couldn't leave them with his honor intact. And considering the performers quite possibly saved his life through their distraction, he owed them at least. Cursing, Makaidos changed his direction away from the city walls and freedom and arced his way across the rooftops towards the performers, hoping he could reach them before the lowlifes did...and that he could get out again before the slayers could challenge him.

How could such an joyful fair become something so horrible.
Screams and cries sprang forth all around the town as a bunch of armed thugs moved through the crowds. Legault's efforts seemed in vain. His first thought's were for the safety of his companion. He turned to her and noticed thugs already atop the roof, headed in her direction. He dashed passed her and, in a flash of blinding light, assumed werewolf form. He barreled at the nearest disoriented thug, launching him from the rooftop. He then turned and rushed back, lifting up his companion before vaulting onto the roof in front of them. Legault saw the horrified look on her face as he changed back to his normal form. He wanted to comfort her, but he was short on time. He whistled for Fawkes as he pulled out his bow. He knocked and imbued an arrow with wind and aimed it towards the thugs. He waited for the thugs to attempt to jump across to his roof, where he would pick them off in mid-air above the alleyway. He heard his companion shriek and noticed her point towards the hooded figure headed in their direction across the rooftops. Legault didn't know what to make of the guy headed in their direction, but kept his attention on the thugs headed towards them. He just hoped the hooded person noticed his attempt at a distraction from earlier.

Ace looked around as terror and chaos began to close in on this crowd. This time however, NOT his fault. Hopefully. He saw a perfomer he had envied from eariler, (Because he was making more money then him) Turn into a werewolf, and strike down a man, then change back effortlessly. His eyes widened, he had never met another werewolf before. That didn't try to kill everyhing around it anyway. He would have to attempt to talk to this one. He noticed four thugs heading his way. Who was calling the shots on this? He pulled out his jagged knife and threw it into one man's skull, where sliced into the skull cleanly, and the quick grunt confirmed the kill. He pulled out his sword, and barreled over his alcehemly table, and rammed his sword into one man's gut. He ripped it out, and a fist collided with his face. He dropped to his knees as his vision blurred. He couldnt change forms here. He would be marked for death throught the land. He attempted to gather himself up, and began to stand. A foot of one of the men decided to meet his chin. He flew backwards, dazed and in pain.

Xanatos came to a sudden stop when he heard the screams, and briefly looked away from Makaidos. Several guards had been thrown from the rooftops to their deaths below, and a number of thugs appeared at the edges of the crowd and began killing innocents. He looked back towards Makaidos who had changed his direction and was heading for the performers instead of fleeing towards the city walls. Cursing, Xanatos motioned for his slayers to break off and help the civilians. Much as the demon needed to be killed, his chief duty was to the defending of innocents. He would still go after the demon himself, but lose his backup while they defended the civilians. Watching Makaidos race across the rooftops and his slayers moving to aid the people, Xanatos raced after the demon.

Tobias grunted at Draykos' reasoning. It was just another wild goose chase, a waste of time that could be spent doing other more important things for the survival of their race. He finished putting his gear back into his pack and followed after Draykos, turning into his human form in disgust. Why they had to hide themselves from the general public to avoid being met with screams and steel eluded him. Filthy humans were afraid of whatever they didn't understand and so attempted to get rid of it, never mind the feelings of the latter. So he was forced to take his hated human form in order to blend in. Privately, he hoped a pickpocket would attempt to steal from him in his foul mood.

Aragohm raced ahead to catch up to his team and stopped by Tobias. "I'll get...er...buy your cooking stuff I guess...Just not anything too expensive OK? I still need to enjoy the fair!"

Makaidos slowed somewhat when he saw one of the performers turn into some kind of beast, possibly a werewolf like what he'd heard was appearing on the north-western part of Aragohm, and kill one of the thugs heading towards him, then leap with the female to another rooftop and ready his bow, then the female shrieked and pointed towards himself. So he had been spotted, but the werewolf performer was keeping the majority of his attention on the approaching thugs, and wasn't considering him a threat...or at least an as immediate danger to them. Makaidos leaped across the final gap between the rooftops separating him and the performers effortlessly and skidded to a stop next to the performers. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the rest of Xanatos' men move to help the civilians, but Xanatos himself appeared to still pursue him. "You have to get out of this city now! I don't fully know what's going on, but this-" He motioned towards the crowd, "-Is a lot more organized than you realize. These guys have to be operating under someone else, they're acting with more strategy than common street thugs."

Jazan heard the screams, and quickly pushed past the guards in the minor prison cells. As he emerged, people were dying everywhere. He looked around, and saw an elf get smashed in the face with a steel toe boot. He quickly ran towards him and grabbed his massive hammer in three pieces slung over his back. Each part was sharp, so each part could act as a weapon. Though much more deadly together, this man was in trouble. He threw a spear piece at one of the the thugs. It thudded when it hit his chest, and stopped halfway through. The man screamed and fell. Before he had time to grab his weapon back, the other thug swung his sword at jazan. He lifted up his gauntlet, and it deflected the blow. The man followed up with a kick, and jazan almost fell backwards. The goon swung his sword once more, and jazan caught it between his hands, so it wouldnt cut himself. He ripped it from the man's hand, and skillfully swirled it around, and rammed it through the mans stomach. As he fell, jazan spit on him, as he gathered the piece of his weapon. He quickly put his warhammer together, and held out his hand for odd looking elf.

Legault released the arrow, which connected with a thug in the air. The arrow made a somewhat small cyclone that repelled the other thugs around the rooftops across from him. Legault turned to the hooded figure and got a better look at him. "I suppose this whole incident is a bit more organized that a normal attack, but I can't just leave Yaglon to these guys. Besides, the main exit routes have been blocked." He notioned towards the thugs at the front and rear exits. The next moment, his falcon Fawkes landed on his shoulder. "Perfect timing friend! I need you to fly high and find the area of town near the walls with the least amount of fighting." The next second Fawkes was airborne, headed towards the town's perimeter. Legault turned to the man before them. "My name's Legault, and she is Andrea. I can't be too sure who the good guys are, but it's clear those brutes aren't them. Seeing how you didn't attempt to skewer us from behind, I'll assume you're a somewhat decent guy. I won't ask why the slayers are after you, but if you agree to watch over my companion here, I'll do my best to open a path out of town for us. How does that sound?" Legault returned his attention to the rooftops just soon enough to notice more thugs land on theirs. He put away the bow and pulled out his sword. He laced it with wind magic then slashed towards the thugs, sending a surge of wind in their direction.

Makaidos glanced back at the still approaching Xanatos then turned back to Legault as he sent several foes flying with a blast of wind. "I'll do what I can for her, but with him-" He gestured towards Xanatos, "after me, I cannot guarantee your friend's safety, so whatever you're going to do, do it quickly." Makaidos surveyed the area and unsheathed his katana slowly, allowing them to come to rest at his sides. "Go, quickly and prepare the way. I will keep your friend safe."

Draykos sadly shook his head at Aragohm's comment. For years he had been leading his team searching for one that everyone believed dead years ago. Maybe he really was...maybe it was time to give up and let him go... Draykos walked toward the city gates in his human form, pondering these thoughts silently.

Legault searched the outline of the town before resting his eyes on Fawkes as it circled a home near the outskirts of the city. Legault, in a brilliant flash of light, once more assumed his beastly form and lifted Andrea in his arms. He signaled to the hooded figure, then darted across the rooftops for the building. Upon stopping near the wall of the city, he set Andrea down and reverted back to his wingless, celestial form. While waiting for his acquaintance to catch up, he shouted back to him, "You may not like it, but I have a plan. I hope you don't fear flying, because I'm shooting the two of you over this wall!"
